Aerogel is a new type of highly efficient thermal insulation material, which was previously only used in high-end fields such as aerospace. Aerogel products in China are mainly divided into two parts: aerogel materials and aerogel products, of which aerogel materials are less difficult to produce and occupy more share. With the production and research and development of aerogel felt by many domestic enterprises, the output of aerogel has increased significantly in recent years. In 2022, the production of aerogel materials and products in China reached 143,800 cubic meters and 185,500 tons, respectively, and the compound annual growth rate in five years was 23.51% and 22.14%, respectively, and it is expected that the production of domestic aerogel materials and products will increase to 161,000 cubic meters and 21,000 tons in 2023.

2. Aerogels sales status Aerogel has a broad application prospect in the fields of oil and gas, new energy batteries and building insulation due to its excellent thermal insulation properties, and the demand keeps growing. The highest proportion of aerogel is in oil and gas projects, accounting for about 56%; This is followed by industrial insulation at 18%, construction manufacturing at 9%, and transportation (lithium) at 8%. With the deepening of China's concept of energy conservation and environmental protection, the future construction field, transportation and other fields will become the fastest growing areas of aerogel. IDTechEX predicts that by 2026, the proportion of aerogel used in construction will increase to 14%, that in transportation will increase to 13%, and that in oil and gas and industrial insulation will decrease to 47% and 15%, respectively.

In 2022, the sales volume of aerogel materials and products in China reached 142,000 cubic meters and 215,200 tons, respectively, with a compound annual growth rate of 22.15% and 21.7% in five years, respectively, and it is expected that the sales volume of domestic aerogel materials and products will increase to 157,000 cubic meters and 235,000 tons in 2023.
