Wrapping the gas pipeline with thermal insulation materials can reduce the heat loss of the pipeline, improve the transmission efficiency, and can play a role in fire prevention and flame retardant. So, what material is better for gas pipelines?
1, fire board: fire board is a material used for fire isolation and protection, usually made of non-combustible materials (such as gypsum board, silicate board, etc.). The installation of fire panels around the gas pipeline can form a thermal insulation layer and reduce the impact of the fire on the gas pipeline.
2, thermal insulation materials: the use of thermal insulation materials to wrap the gas pipeline can effectively reduce the heat conduction of external heat sources to the pipeline. Common insulation materials include rock wool, glass fiber, aerogel felt, etc. These materials have good thermal insulation properties, which can reduce the increase in pipe surface temperature and provide additional fire protection.
Rock wool is mainly made of inorganic fiber materials such as basalt and pyroxene as the main raw materials, belonging to A class non-combustible material, with thermal insulation, sound absorption and noise reduction, fire retardant and other properties, the maximum use temperature can reach 800℃.
(2) Glass wool
The main raw material of glass wool is made of recycled glass or quartz sand, which is the same as rock wool, and belongs to the inorganic fiber material with open-hole fiber structure. Compared with rock wool, glass wool density and quality are relatively low, with low thermal conductivity, not easy to corrosion, good stability, fire retardant and other properties, the highest use temperature can reach 538℃.
(3) Aerogel felt
Aerogel felt is a composite material composed of aerogel and glass fiber, with ultra-low thermal conductivity, excellent fire resistance, seismic resistance, light and soft, green environmental protection and other properties, the use temperature can reach 1000℃ or more.
